Our Chairman, Nicholas Savage, has resigned his position on the Federation board in order to pursue his career as a medical doctor. We would like to thank Dr Savage for his dedicated work in pursuing a program which has allowed us to run one candidate in every ward in the city every year for the last three election cycles. This in the best of times can be a very difficult task.
Nick put a good team of officers and key candidates together which has helped the Federation maintain a consistent electoral profile every year. Nick also made it fun to be a member of Manchester Conservatives, arranging dozens of delightful social events in the city, in addition to major fundraising dinners attended by, amongst others, local MPs Graham Brady and Chris Green, MEP Sajjad Karim and several other Conservative Party officials. Nick has played an important role in stabilizing City of Manchester Conservatives in difficult electoral times for our party.
We wish Nick every success in his future professional and political pursuits.
Taking over as Chairman is our former Deputy Chairman Political, David Semple, documentary film maker and writer for Israel News Online. Dr Shaden Jaradat, an academic at Manchester University, moves from Deputy Chairman Membership to Deputy Chairman Political. Joining the board is businessman Phelim Rowe, as Deputy Chairman Membership and Fundraising. Peter Schofield, our Treasurer and Vice President, and Peter Hilton, our President, remain with us in the same roles.
